Ingredients: French Green Clay, Green Tea Leaves, Baking Soda, Tea Tree Essential Oil
BENEFITS OF EACH INGREDIENT: French Green Clay - French Green Clay is often called Illite Clay or Sea Clay. This clay contains a wide variety of healing elements, including montmorillonite (Bentonite), magnesium, calcium, potassium, dolomite, silica, manganese, phosphorous, silicon, copper, and selenium. Green Clay is perfect for acne-prone to oily skin because it literally “drinks” oils, toxic substances, and impurities from your skin. Its toning action stimulates the skin by bringing fresh blood to damaged skin cells, revitalizing the complexion, and tightening pores. Green Tea Leaves - The slightly abrasive texture of dry green tea leaves act as a great exfoliant to scrub off dead skin cells and pollutants, leaving your skin soft and smooth. Green tea leaves also have great anti-inflammatory properties and help reduce blemishes and scars. Green tea leaves also help preserve your skin by reducing damage caused by the sun. Baking Soda - Baking soda is one of the most effective remedies for treating acne. An application of baking soda opens the skin pores and eliminates the top layer of the skin that contains oily secretions, dead skin cells and dust. This inhibits acne formation. Baking soda is a safe product and therefore, will not cause any side effects. Unlike commercial products, it can be used regularly without any itching or scarring or long-term damages to the skin. Tea Tree Oil - Tea tree oil is known for its topical antiseptic and anti-fungal treatment or infection-reducing benefits. It also has antibiotic properties and helps aid against aliments such as skin infections, rashes, burns, dandruff and much more. The health benefits of Tea Tree Essential Oil can be attributed to its properties as an antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiseptic, antiviral, balsamic, cicatrisant, expectorant, fungicide, insecticide, stimulant and sudorific substance. |
Directions for use:
Before we get started, please know that you should use plastic or wooden spoons only to mix the clay. You’re never supposed to use metal utensils with your clays because the metals can leach from the utensil and be pulled into the clay. This fills the clay up with those positively charged metals and means your clay will practically be useless by the time you use it since it’s already full of the metals from the utensil you used. The same goes with when it’s being mined. You want fully active clay… not clay that is already half full of metals from the mining process.
This is not a very thick mask but it will harden when left to seep on your skin. One application would require one tablespoon of Nekkid Mask. Choose either Fresh Milk (or Almond Milk for vegans) or water to make a paste. We prefer milk because of it's added benefits. Add a teaspoon at a time to your mixture until you have the right consistency for a mask. If it's too runny, it will drip. If it is too thick, it won't apply as easily. Use your fingers to apply or a synthetic foundation brush which is mess-free. Let sit for 15 to 20 minutes until the mask dries up.
To wash off, run your hands in lukewarm water and pat water on your face to soften the hardened mask. Massage gently in circular motions to get more nutrients into your skin. No need to rinse with soap, just pat dry and follow up with your moisturizer.
NOTE: Caution should be exercised as clays may stain fabric.
